A Quick Update

Hey guys,

It’s been a while since my last post in June.. I just want to give you a quick update. I’m doing well!

My Curly Mind

shea-decadenceSoon I’m featured on the Trials n Tresses blog. It’s a lifestyle website about natural hair, tutorials, up and coming artists and fashion designers. Check it out! The webshop Shea Decadence approached me to write some reviews of their products Kinks. I never heard of it. It’s all natural and I already can say that their products are great! Check my review soon!

Natural Hair

hoofdfotoAfter my tight bun hair style. This style is so cute! I wanted to do something different with my hair so I tried this style for the first time. It’s called: The TIGHT Bun! In order to do this style you actually need to have stretched … Continue reading → I think I broke my hair off on by pulling too hard.  My hair is very thin on my left side and in the back. In the middle I see a little part that is very short…What to do?!?  I hope castor oil helps!

Drivers licence

So I FINALLY started again with my driving lessons. I started hundred years ago but did not finish it :p. It’s so exciting and a little bit stressfull, cause I failed theory exam 7 times before, but that was a while ago. Yes 7 times…I know :(. Last week I did it again and failed. I missed one point to pass the test. Anyhow I won’t give up and I’m going for it!

The past few weeks were a little bit stressfull for me. The job at PowerLady is my first real job after my graduation and I am learning so many things as an employee in the bussiness. How to deal with many stuff, things like how to come across, my confidence and how to deal with it. It’s such a learning process, which I’m thankfull for. Cause it’s an investment for myself. You need to get through this, I think,  in order to grow and be succesfull. It’s a road with ups and downs.

Tomorrow I’m doing the Color run with my hubs and friends!!! I can’t wait :). My friend Jany started a blog about life, love, family and friends, See For Yourself. Check it out! For the weight watchers..I found an easy app to track your diet. It’s called My Diet Tracker. I love it! You can track your diet by making pictures. It makes it so visual of what you eat and how much you eat, than just writing it down.

Enjoy your weekend!

Hairsongs in the mix by dj T.O.M.

Hi everyone,

As promised! It’s Friday so it’s time for a new blog! My hubby had this great idea to make a mix with songs about hair. He is working in the music bizz and he now knows a LOT about natural hair, co-washes, twistouts etc. So why not combine this! Isn’t that great!

The mix includes songs from Willow, Indie Arie, Missy Elliot, D’Angelo, Ying Yang Twins and more ;).

I LOVE it!

Listen to it! Share, like and enjoy!

Busy bee….

busy-womanHi everyone,

It’s been a while now that I publiced a blog on My Curly Mind…I am so, but sooooo busy with my new job, that I put blogging on the backburner.  I just want to share this with you guys.

I am working for this beautifull organisation, called Powerlady since three months. It’s providing young women to work on their social and working skills. Those women could not finish their study or couldn’t find a job because of their situation. With them and young professionals we are making our own magazine to inspire and motivate women! We are now busy with our last print edition, it’s available in May. Then we go further as a online Dutch empowering platform for women.  I am doing the PR and I am chief editor of the platform! I am so thankful that I am getting this oppurtunity to have this amazing job. Powerlady is all about getting chances, developing my skills as a manager and creativly for me.  This is the first time that I am producing a magazine and I have so much respect for people who produce a monthly magazine. It’s al lot of work. But it is so much fun and I meeting new people and I learn a lot.

Welcome to the adult life. I am not a student anymore. I am a hardworking woman now.  I have so much appreciation for women who have children, are married, maintain a household and a career. How do they do it? I need to find a balance to schedule my blog time, cause I really missed it. I am going to write once a week on a regular day.  It will be on Friday.

I will see you on Friday!

Happy Easter everybody!

Nominated to The Addictive Blog Awards

I was nominated to The Addictive Blog Awards by Nurah!

I have never expected to be nominated! Yeaaah this is amazing! It’s nice to  know that someone is reading my blog..haha. So thank you for stopping by and to find my blog addictive.

Thank you so much Nurah!

Those are the rules of the award:

  • Thank the person who nominated you (and link back to their blog of course)
  • Share a little about why you blog and how your adventure in the world of blogging began
  • Paste the blog award on your page (or wherever you keep them on your blog for all the world to see)
  • Nominate 10 other bloggers you are addicted to

Let’s get it started then!

How it all started:

Since I became natural or let’s say returned natural and exposed to the blog world, I thought I want to share my journey to0. Wearing my natural hair again has changed me a bit because I have more courage to be myself and to go after my dreams.  I start thinking about to start a Dutch magazine about natural hair and things that’s are really important in life. Others encouraged me to start a blog first so I can write about those topics. So that’s is what  I did and I enjoy it!

Why do I blog:

I blog, because I want to share almost everything what’s on my mind. The things in life that I think are important, or will lift you up and inspire you. And I blog about everything about natural hair!! I’m so happy when someone reads my blog or takes the time to leave a comment.  I thank you all for doing that.
